Airport Strip Search has Granny's Panties in a Bunch

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan - We all know that aorport security in airports these days is at its maximum in light of the incidents last September, but this is taking it a little far. An 80-year-old great-grandmother was visibly distraught after reportedly being strip-searched at Grand Rapids, Michigan airport.

After visiting her grand kids, Mary Jane Price was returning home to Florida Saturday at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Price reportedly set off the metal detector with her metal knee replacement, and police used a wand to do a second check. The wand continued to beep, and the guards were not satisfied.

Bonnie Johnston, Price's daughter, said that the screener said that they would do a strip search.

"My mom said 'You've got to be kidding me!'" Johnston said.

The guards called for back up and escorted Pierce to a separate break room. Johnson said, "My mother had to pull her pants down and lift her blouse up, and show there was no wire or anything." Because the door to the break room was not locked, apparently men walked into the room durring the strip search, adding to the humiliation.

"Yeah granny, ok now get on the table and do a table dance." I can understand being a little desperate, but an 80-year-old woman? C'mon guys..

Actually the people I most feel sorry for the most in this story are the guys who walked in on the search. Can you imagine being tired off a long flight and walk into a quiet room for some R&R, you open the door and BAM! Some wrinkled butt right in your face. Ouch!

  I've been pretty close to being strip searched before at American airports. They set their metal detectors real tight. I travelled from Kyushu to Tokyo and then from Tokyo to Chicago. It was only after I tried to board my plain to Toronto that the Americans found some tin foil in my pocket. I didn't even get the slightest beep. Then after being cleared by the searcher, an American idiot yelled at me for trying to go where I was instructed. Then he didn't even apologize when he was confronted with his error by another security guard. he only said "Oh, my partner didn't tell me. NEXT VICTIM!"

  I dont really know what the big deal is about being strip searched is anyway, Personally i enjoy being strip searched, Whenever i go someplace i will actually act suspicious just so i can get strip searched. If i go someplace and dont get a strip search.....Well i just feel like i been cheated.

  i was made to have a strip search as i have a pacemaker, drop my pants and open my underwear fully so they could see everything in side, told this was new law that come in that week since found out this is false. there should be away these people can be charged with what they do
