Jordanian shoots and kills two at engagement celebration

AMMAN, Jordan - A Jordanian man's engagement celebration ended in death for two of his friends and potential murder charges for him.

Police say the man shot off a machine gun to celebrate after his prospective in-laws approved his proposal to their daughter.

But officials say the man lost control of the gun and shot four people - two fatally - at the party in a village south of Amman.

Police say the man's father had a heart attack and is in the hospital. (Zone81.com)

Congratulations!! ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba... Well at least he wasn't doing a suicide bomber celebration in the West Bank or Jerusalem.

Arafat: "I know we need to stop the violence, but knocking off Israelis is so much fun I can't stop."  

Is it me or is the Middle Eastern conflict completely one-sided; Arafat telling Arabs to bomb and kill innocent people, Israelis retaliate by breaking into Palestinian houses and killing any men they see.

It seems now Israel is building a huge fence like the Berlin wall to keep Palestinians out.

It is true that I have never heard of Israel sending suicide bombers into Gaza to kill Palestinians, they tend to be more like America: "Kill systematically and justify it later." I love seeing Bush completely supporting Israel killing innocent people and maintaining a "neutral" position on the conflict.

Why does the US have to act like we support Israel? We could knock off that whole country in about 3 minutes. I guess we like having an ally among all the Muslims with guns...

  Arafat is a crook and a murderer. I think the only way to solve the conflict is to destroy all Arabs.

  Just another example of assiniity in the Middle East. I am somewhat suprised that the Zone 81 editors did not pick up on the 6/18 news report from Iran about the man that raped and killed his nephew. (Which brings to mind the ancient riddle of how do you separate the men from the boys in the Middle East? Answer: With a crowbar!) But I digress. The Iranian was sentenced to death by being put in a sack and tossed off of a cliff. If he survived, he was to be hanged! Okay now, everyone all together: The entire Middle East is a festering boil on the ass of the earth!!!!!

  Total agree with Rayman. When your two kids fight and you step in, they could go on forever about who started it, and they will never make peace... Now a quick and effective way to deal with it is just to punish them both. (No, Brutus, put these pliers down!) Why not just apply that to the situation in the Middle East? Peace is not making any progress and the unrest there is a continuous threat to the rest of the World. So let's just nuke the whole Middle East into oblivion and start living in a better world.
